Member Comments:  I contacted Hayko and he responded to my call right away.  I found him via Angie's list and saw that he works on very expensive rugs.  Mine aren't super high quality so I was worried my work might not be up his ally.  But that was not the case.  He gave me a quote on the phone for washing my two rugs that equaled about $500.  I had also contacted another company (who was also reviewed on Angie's list.  That company claimed that one of my rugs was silk (it is not) and that the one rug alone would cost $700 to clean.  The fact that he was trying to convince me that my one rug needed to be treated extra carefully because it was silk, and the fact that he didn't even have letterhead to provide me with a quote, made me uncomfortable.  I chose to go with Hayko and so glad I did.  He was respectful, informative, timely and did beautiful work.  One of my rugs needed repair and he offered, without pushing, to do the work of repairing the rug if I so wanted.  I decided to go with it (but just have him repair the sides of the runner rather than take care of the whole thing to save money).  When it was delivered today he informed he had gone ahead and done the ends as well and did not charge me any extra. Member Comments:    This job went fantastically from beginning to end.  We were aware that these three rugs were old and probably valuable but had not paid them proper attention for years.  A dog chewed the edges; we never cleaned them and kept them folded for years.  When our basement flooded, they were in a room which got water though they themselves did not get wet.  We took their "escape" as a sign that we should give them the attention they deserved.  After reading reviews on the List, I called Hayko.  We made an appointment for him to give us his opinion on the rugs and an estimate.  He couldn't make the appointment, but called and apologized and rescheduled.  When he came, he told us all about the history of the rugs, explained the design,  told us what they needed, and gave us a quote which was reasonable.  He also told us when they would probably be ready.  We gave him a down payment and he took the rugs away.  A little less than a month later, the rugs were ready.  Hayko brought them over, spread them out--and, to cut to the chase,  they are  GORGEOUS.  The dog damage was repaired and the colors blew us away.  Hayko told us, however, that one of the rugs was, despite two washings, still had dust inside, and that we should get it cleaned again in about six months to a year.  We are thrilled with the way the job turned out! Member Comments: He did necessary repairs, provided pickup and delivery at no additional charge. He also took another rug and tailored it to fit my room. I went to his shop and he spent over an hour and ended up putting his rugs on my website. He is extremely smart, speaks beautiful french, and did a beautiful job. He even took me out for coffee.
